Altius Associates Limited (“Altius”) are the first financial services company in the world to achieve official accreditation to the Global Industry Standard for Business Continuity, BS25999. 
 
Altius is an independent fund-of-funds and
segregated account manager focused solely on private equity and private real assets markets across all geographies.  Altius operates from offices in London (UK), Richmond, VA (US), and Singapore.
 
Altius has a staff of 32 with a team of 20 investment professionals with deep experience in investing in private markets globally.  Altius’ research and investment teams provide global coverage in all private equity and private real assets (energy, infrastructure, and timber) strategies. Altius currently manages and advises over $17 billion of investments and commitments for a select group of international institutional investors.
 
In April 2009 Altius saw a need to add resilience to their organisation by establishing Business Continuity Management System. This enabled Altius to prioritise their activities in the event of a crisis to ensure that they could continue to run the organisation and to provide a service. They quickly sought the services of Biscon Planning; an experienced continuity consultancy based in Gloucestershire, to start the ball rolling and over a period of three months had the plan completed with full testing.

Following their completion of a Business Impact Analysis and a Business Continuity Plan, Altius then made the decision to go for BS25999 accreditation. The reason for this was simple – to propel Altius forward to become the most secure and resilient private equity manager in the world.
 
After a lot of hard work and a nail-biting assessment, Altius achieved accreditation to BS25999 in June 2010 and received their certificate on July 19th from Gary Fenton, Operations Director for the BSi.
