Business Continuity Veteran Joins MIR3
Pickren’s BC/DR Expertise Allows MIR3 to Offer Expanded Consultative Offerings and Strategic Support
SAN DIEGO (July 21, 2011)—MIR3, the innovator of real-time Intelligent Notification™ and response technology, announced today that Ann Pickren has joined the company as vice president of solutions, effective immediately. This new role enhances the level of strategic and consultative service MIR3 can provide to its growing base of customers.
Pickren brings more than 20 years of experience in the business continuity, disaster recovery, and notification industry to MIR3. In her new role, she will focus on evangelizing MIR3 solutions to the BC/DR market, particularly the flagship Intelligent Notification platform. She will also consult directly with MIR3 customers to help develop emergency management and business continuity best practices. Pickren’s expertise spans the business continuity, crisis management, disaster recovery, and supply chain management sectors, including extensive experience providing strategic counsel for many Fortune 500 companies.

Previously, Pickren served as executive vice president at Firestorm Solutions, an organization that provides business continuity consulting, vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation and crisis management guidance to corporations, schools and universities. At Firestorm Solutions, she oversaw the development of business continuity and crisis management methodology and delivery of all client services to ensure the best application of the company’s services.
Pickren is known throughout the industry for her achievements at SunGard, one of the world’s leading software and technology services companies, where she was responsible for business development, consulting engagement delivery and the management of professional staff. At SunGard, Pickren pioneered one of the first truly integrated business continuity planning and notification platforms, SunGard Paragon, which is currently in use as a key MIR3 OEM implementation.
Pickren serves as an advisory board member for BC Management Inc., the only executive search firm that specializes in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, risk management, and information security careers. She is also a member of the Organizational Resilience Maturity Technical Committee within ASIS International, an organization dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests.
With an MBA from Georgia State University, Pickren’s undergraduate studies focused in math and statistics. She is active within her community as a volunteer with the Drake House, which provides short-term crisis housing, assessment, support, and empowerment to homeless mothers and their children, and she is also involved with North Fulton Community Charities.
