SunGard Named Business Continuity Service Provider of the Year
SunGard Availability Services, the pioneer and leading provider of Information Availability and business continuity services, has been named Business Continuity Service Provider of the Year for a record 7th time at the annual Business Continuity Awards. SunGard also took home a further two awards; Excellence in Infrastructure Management and Most Innovative Product for its Secure Hosted Dealing/ Dealing Room Recovery offering. These awards recognise SunGard’s continued excellence within the field of continuity, availability and IT Infrastructure as a Service.
Business Continuity Service Provider of the Year
Despite the worst worldwide recession in 80 years, 2009 saw SunGard Availability Services continue to make significant financial and time investments to benefit its customers in the UK. Some investment highlights include: new Cloud solutions; new approaches to Dealing Room Recovery; improved customer communications and new internationally-deployed value systems to govern customer experience. In recognition of these achievements, the panel of industry experts named SunGard as Business Continuity Service Provider of the Year for the seventh time since the Awards began 12 years ago.

Excellence in Infrastructure Management
SunGard won the Excellence in Infrastructure Management award thanks to its continual investment to meet customers’ existing and future needs. Since 2002 it has invested £several-hundred million to create an unparalleled infrastructure for continuity, recovery, resilience and availability. In 2009, significant investment was made in the UK to develop Cloud offerings, providing Infrastructure as a Service, as well as the latest solutions for recovery and managed services for SunGard customers.
Most Innovative Product
Winner of the Most Innovative Product award, SunGard’s Secure Hosted Dealing/ Dealing Room Recovery offering enables its customers to recover their most complex operations to any SunGard Workplace site without being tied to physical dealing suites. Launched in November 2009, it cost-effectively mitigates wide area disruptions and provides complete interoperability between customers’ live and recovery environments; thus minimising the need for customers to vacate their usual place of work during local disruptions and remain focused on trading.
