BANG is a group of friendly business continuity professionals who physically get together once a month and share experiences all year round via our LinkedIn group.
Each time we get together, typically the last Wednesday of every month in the City, London, we invite a guest speaker to talk about a hot topic. Speakers include a wide variety of industry thought leaders from multiple business sectors. Whatever the subject, whatever the debate we like to push boundaries, challenge the unchallenged.
In April we held our annual “Business Continuity Alternative Awards”. I am absolutely honoured and delighted to be named “Best Contribution to the industry”. I really was not expecting this honour as I was up against such fantastic people.
For me it makes it even more special that this is voted for by members of the industry and not by a committee as it means that I’ve made a difference to people across the industry and it feels great to be recognised for this.
BANG started as a group of people coming together to network and discuss Business Continuity and Resilience but we have now moved on and are taking on projects which help change the way that we work in the industry. A great example of this would be our 3PQ team which is a group of BANG members who worked to produce a questionnaire that can be used by any organisation looking to better their supply chain management, a copy of the questionnaire can be downloaded from the Continuity Forum website.
BANG has grown bigger than we imagined with the launch of groups across the globe including Scotland, Manchester and New York!
Once again thank you to everyone who voted for me, I am truly delighted with the win and if you would like to join BANG or find out more please do not hesitate to email me.
